Quick Tips!
  • Use dresser drawers to store some clothing.
  • Keep your valuable items and documents with you. Do not pack in a box and label “Valuables” or “Documents”.
  • Save truck space by putting mattresses and tables on their side and secure them to the wall.
  • If friends and family are helping you move, reward them with a mover’s meal: sandwiches, pizza, etc.
  • Label each box with the contents and the room in your new apartment where it belongs.
  • Number the boxes and keep a list of what’s in each box.
  • Clearly mark fragile items.
  • Pack a bag of personal items you’ll need during the move, such as a change of clothes, toiletries, medicine, maps, food and drinks. Keep the bag in an easy-to-find place when you pack.
  • Keep a medical kit accessible.
  • If you have children, pack a bag of games and activities for the trip.
